E-waste a Threat to Human Health and Environment

There is no doubt that the E-waste is dangerous for environment and ruining our atmosphere making it inhabitable for survive the human species. Now researchers have revealed that it is also very dangerous for human health too. In a study that lately been published revealed a dangerous effects of e-waste impact on human body. That’s what the recycling industry is trying to surpass. They had revealed that the e-waste is causing the lung cancers in the area where a large amount of garbage put to recycling or disposal in China. E-waste or Electronic waste is garbage generates after the electrical goods such as computers, printers mobile, TV and others. Each year millions of tons of garbage come into the picture and only a small amount is came into contact of any kind of recycling. 100,000 tons is exported from UK and a large amount exported to china. The biggest problem is to recycle that big amount and then use it again and also industries are working to extract the toxic metals from the devices, which infect their skin and led them to skin disease.

After exposing the cultured lung cells to the organic-soluble and water-soluble constituents of the samples, the researchers tested for the level of Interleukin-8 (IL-8), a key mediator of inflammatory response, and Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS), chemically reactive molecules that can cause extensive damage in excess. The samples were also tested for the expression of the p53 gene – a tumour suppressor gene that produces a protein to help counteract cell damage. Published on a site.

Many people have lost their life during a long contact of e-waste, that’s why the factories are using latest technologies to save the workers and provide them proper equipment to be safe from all kinds of disease but in small factories this can’t just be done.
