The Mall of America hopes to attract Chinese Tourists

In 1992 when the Mall of America was launched it was very hard for Chinese residents to travel outside of their country, and even if they got the chance, they couldn’t afford to spend on the mall. After 20 years from 1992 Chinese tourists have become the largest global spenders. Over 100 million tourists from china are expected to tour abroad in the whole of 2014, leaving a profit of $100 billion to the toured countries. By year 2016 china hope to be a large global travel market, and by the year 2020 it has been predicted international travels by Chinese people will be 200 million.

minnpost says "Data intelligence is also an obstacle. Roughly 5 million of the mall's 42 million annual visitors come from outside the United States, but the MOA struggles to determine exactly where those 5 million come from. This will only because more difficult as China's restrictions on tourism loosen and more of the nation's travelers opt out of tightly managed tour groups in favor of independent, individual or family travel."

Following its expansion of 10 million square foot, Mall of America hopes it will lure 8 million more tourists internationally. While other states such as New York and Vegas are popular in china, America struggles for recognition. The biggest challenge for the mall is to market itself in China and get more visitors. The competition is stiff and the mall needs to stand out from the rest by offering services and great attractions which are ideal for tourists from china. Several Business tycoons such as bebo kobo and other have struggled a lot to establish the ,Markets.

University of Minnesota located in America is highly populated with Chinese students as well a large number of alumni based in china, the mall of America hopes to take advantage of this fact with the hope of getting this Chinese people to visit their mall or spread news about the mall to to residents of China.
